Dear students and professors,
Image shown above depicts Senior Design Project procedure. In following text we will explain in details how this procedure will be conducted.
On January 22 topics from all mentors will be defined and publicly announced to students. Every mentor will propose 5 topics from which students can choose their SDP topic. If student have some other ideas regarding topics, he/she can propose idea to mentor, and write short description of project to be done in both, functional requirements and technologies that will be used.
Once project topic is defined and mentor is chosen, student needs to fill two forms, Supervisor form and Thesis Proposal form, and submit these two forms to SDP coordinator. These form can be found below this text. Deadline for submitting forms is 2.3.2017. If deadline is broken student will not be able to take Senior Design Project course in 6th semester.
Once project topic is approved student will work on his project during 6th semester. Throughout this process student will have regular meetings with mentor (at least 5), where mentor will fill in form regarding student visits and progress. These visits are compulsory and will be regarded as attendance from Senior Design Project course. Exact time and place regarding student visits will be announced by mentors.
While working on project, student also need to work on his SDP document. This document has all details of project regarding functional requirements, technologies, methodologies used, future work and other related things. Student will find guide on how to write this document below in pdf document as well as template in which format document will be written.
When student finish his project and document he will submit these two to mentor for approval. Regarding on which term student wants to defend his project deadlines vary. If student wants to defend project on first term deadline for submitting project and document is 8.6.2016, if student wants to defend project on second term deadline for submitting project and document is 2.6.2016, and if student wants to defend project on third term deadline for submitting project and document is 24.8.2017. Mentor may return document and project to student if something is not good.
Once mentor approves document and project, FINAL version of document will be submitted to SDP coordinator in three hard copies. If student wants to defend project on first term deadline for applying is 15.6.2016, if student wants to defend project on second term deadline for applying is 29.6.2016, and if student wants to defend project on third term deadline for applying is 29.8.2017.
One week before defense, committee members and students that will defend their project on that particular term will be publicly announced.
It is necessary for students to fill out and bring the Jury Report document to their defense.
